5 Solas of the Reformation
October might bring up the thoughts of gremlins and ghosts for some, for others it is a reminder of a massively important movement in Christianity. The Reformation towers over many other events in Christian history. Summarized in the 5 Solas, the theological non-negotiables of the reformation went onto define much of how we understand church today. Sola, being the latin root for "alone" or "only", stands as the 5 claims of Christainity that would go on to reform the faith back to a biblical picture of Christainity. Pulling it away from the religious institutions and man-centered authoirty that drug it down into disrepair, the 5 Solas are a battle cry and a praise song.
